Job description

Reporting to the CEO group of an asset-based logistics provider, in business for over 10 years. The organization provides a comprehensive suite of services to meet customer needs, including flatbed, refrigerated, LTL, drayage, intermodal, and 3PL services.

The Director of Sales will lead the sales strategy and execution of the Freight Brokerage business unit. The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, and expanding the customer base by building a book of business through personal efforts and through the team. Will develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives. Will build and manage a high-performing sales team. Will lead and inspire the sales team to meet and exceed revenue goals, fostering a result-driven culture. Will increase the acquisition of new clients while nurturing relationships with existing clients to increase revenue and retention. Will manage the sales budget effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and achieving cost-effective sales operations. Will work closely with operations, marketing, and customer service, to ensure alignment and effective execution of the sales strategy.

Required Experience:
  • Experience in sales in the Freight Brokerage industry (6+ years)
  • Experience of successfully leading and scaling sales teams (3+ years)
  • Experience with multiple modes of transportation, specifically flatbed
  • Strong selling and negotiating skills
  • Understanding of carrier procurement and pricing strategies
  • Strong understanding of TMS and CRM tools
  • Experience in various modes of transportation
  • Strong history of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience driving revenue growth and developing new business opportunities
