Job description

SUMMARY: Responsible for organizing paperwork in the shipping office as well as ensure that the assembly of all orders to be shipped are accurate, complete, have proper paperwork attached, and are sent via the appropriate carrier.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make sure all routing requests are completed per customer's guidelines;
  • Verify all paperwork is provided and completed properly including BOL's, Cust Doc's, and additional proper documentation of all routing requests.
  • Oversee the shipping office, ensuring drivers are assigned to doors and getting loaded in a timely manner.
  • Load trucks with direction from Supervisor and/or Lead with warehouse powered equipment.
  • Responsible for reporting all problems to Supervisor and/or Lead.
  • Special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Physically challenging-ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for extended hours.
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word plus familiarity with WMS.
  • Knowledge of shipping/distribution policies, practices, and procedures;
  • Ability to operate warehouse power equipment;
  • Detail oriented with a proven work ethic;
  • Good attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent to at least a high school education plus specialized courses and 1-3 years of experience.
