MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Propulsion Project Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.

The Propulsion Project Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to provide launch vehicle systems engineering expertise, supporting the Space Force to redefine the future of Assured Access to Space (AATS).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and analyzing launch vehicle propulsion system design, manufacturing, test, and launch data.
  • Planning, coordinating, participating, and leading Engineering Review Boards, providing risk assessments and technical recommendations.
  • Performing systems engineering functions such as requirements definition, design review, test review, pedigree, hardware acceptance, verification, operations, and post-flight analyses.
  • Preparing status and readiness review packages including risk recommendations and mitigations.
  • Supporting acquisition functions including requirements, RFPs, source selection, data submittals, and award fees.
  • Preparing Customer team for, and directly supporting, rehearsals and launch operations, including the anomaly resolution process.
  • Collaborating with Aerospace Corporation, Launch Vehicle Contractors (LVCs), Launch Sites, and production factories.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 8+ years of systems engineering, technical program management, or other related experience.
  • 3+ years of NSSL, AATS, Launch/Range, DoD, NASA, or industry equivalent launch or space systems project engineering experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with launch vehicle systems, including solid rocket motors, liquid propellant rocket engines and systems, ordnance, and ground support equipment.
  • Experience with launch vehicle design, processing, integration, testing, launch, and anomaly resolution.
  • Ability to perform design reviews, pre- and post-test reviews, procedures reviews, and failure analysis.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of certified USSF launch vehicle system design, manufacture, test, and operations preferred (Vulcan, Falcon).
  • Experience with agile software products, such as Jira/Confluence, and competency in MS Office or SharePoint-type databases.
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability giving written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, not required to start.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $105,900.00-$177,300.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.  In addition, MANTECH invests in its employees beyond just compensation.  MANTECH's benefits offerings include, dependent upon position, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, short-term and long-term Disability, Retirement and Savings, Learning and Development opportunities, wellness programs as well as other optional benefit elections.
