Job description

Job Position Summary: Responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day shipping department and preparing items for shipment.

You must have:

  • 3+ years of Shipping and Receiving experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Ability to Work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer Service Oriented and Professional demeanor.
  • The ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to become certified to use a Forklift.
  • Be able to effectively work well with all cross functions of the company.
  • Be able to work last Saturday of each month and New Years Eve.

In your role, you will:

  • Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Prepare items for shipment according to shipping orders.
  • Compares identifying information such as count, weight or description of outgoing shipments against shipping orders or other records.
  • Assembles shipping containers and inserts items into containers using appropriate filler. Stamps, stencils, or marks identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers.
  • Posts weights, shipping charges and affixes postage.
  • Routes items and stock to appropriate destination as requested.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Receives and records all incoming inventory distribution items and check-in items. Reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Performs part marking on all parts prior to shipments.
  • Maintains area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Maintains and inventories all shipping materials.
  • Access customer portals to retrieve shipping info to create ASN.
  • Follow, Update, and maintain packaging and shipping work instructions.
  • Maintains a clean organized work area.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
  • May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.

7:00am - 4:30pm with Saturdays as needed
