Job description

General Summary

The Sales Associate's job is to help with the receiving, stocking, and pricing of the merchandise. Sales associates also help cashier, help customers find what they need, and provide the services we offer.

Experience is a bonus, but we do offer on-the-job training. Training is so important that we have ongoing training, regardless of experience, to put you in a position to be successful at your job. Raises are given for completing training.

Day to day duties & Responsibilities

Include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Putting away freight

Cashiering

Price changes

Inventorying

Assisting customers

Picking online orders

Merchandising new products

Writing up repair orders for the shop

Fixing windows and screens

Assisting with the services we offer

o Cutting keys

o Programming vehicle keys

o Rental equipment

o Window and screen repair

o Cutting/threading pipe

o Mixing paint

o other services

This job is for evenings and weekends. Generally, it's 2-3 shifts during the week and will be every other weekend. In the spring (May and June) we get busy so more hours will be available, and you'd be scheduled more weekend shifts in a row. We do make it a point to have a flexible schedule and can schedule around other events and functions. We use an app (for smartphones) for scheduling, dropping, and trading shifts so that making changes to your schedule is easier and quicker.

You'll be on your feet most of the shift. We do require that you can lift 50 pounds, but we do have equipment for hauling anything of substantial weight. We also require that you can climb a ladder.

Ideal candidates are folks who have a full-time job but are looking for a few extra hours, People that are retired from the trades, high school and college students, or people who are looking for a part-time job now and would eventually like to have an opportunity to become full-time staff when the opportunity comes up.
