Position Overview: Order Picker associates are responsible for obtaining pick lists (the detailed list of products necessary to fill each order) and prioritizing them in the order in which each needs to be filled. This involves gathering merchandise throughout the store to fill orders in a timely manner, carefully packing orders to ensure that products do not get damaged, and accurately labelling and placing orders into specified holding areas until they are moved out of the store and loaded onto the truck. As part of the Service Desk team, Order Picker associates need to be comfortable handling basic customer order-related transactions, such as POS sales and returns, answering or making customer phone calls and the ability to read a COM order or notes in the system. Key Responsibilities: Ensures Customer Satisfaction Following Home Depot’s GET model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer. Gathering the product mix to fill all orders in a timely manner, while utilizing the Order Fulfillment Application. Loading delivery vehicles and taking out customers curbside orders, which includes complying with required safety regulations. Creating space for delivery orders until they are moved out of the store Packing and labeling orders carefully to ensure that products do not get damaged and can withstand the turbulence encountered on a delivery truck. Safety and Compliance Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures. Moving freight safely from designated staging areas to overheads or bringing merchandise down from overheads using the appropriate equipment.
