Job Description

Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 4 days onsite/week)

Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B).

We are looking for a Senior Functional Business Analyst to support a major ETRM transformation program within a US-based energy trading company headquartered in Europe. The role focuses on supporting the migration rollout across US markets, aligning business processes with European standards, and working closely with business users, HQ teams, and delivery partners. The BA will play a key role in functional delivery, user support, requirement gathering, documentation, and driving business adoption during the migration.

Functional Scope

The BA will support end-to-end post-trade and control workflows including:

  • Trade Control processes (confirmations, validations, lifecycle events, reconciliations)
  • Back Office & post-trade operations
  • Regulatory, accounting, and exchange-related workflows
  • Interaction with upstream/downstream systems (market data, settlements, accounting, reporting, data platforms)
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate discussions with business users
  • Gather, clarify, and drive functional requirements
  • Translate European processes for US teams
  • Support testing, validation, and business alignment
  • Identify functional gaps and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors
Qualifications Required
  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst on complex transformation programs
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to structure discussions, simplify complex topics, and drive decisions
  • Knowledge of energy trading and/or US power markets (PJM, ISO-NE, ERCOT, etc.)
  • Experience working across time zones and bridging global teams
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • SQL skills or strong technical awareness (data flows, interfaces, reconciliation concepts)
Nice to have
  • Experience on ETRM implementations/migrations, especially Orchestrade
  • Understanding of: trade lifecycle events, settlement & invoicing, exchange clearing, accounting impacts / P&L / month-end close support
  • Familiarity with delivery tools such as Jira/Confluence, test management tools, etc.
