Our newly remodeled restaurant offers a unique dining experience, combining a sophisticated ambiance with delectable cuisine. Uniquely situated on the hills of Orange County, Orange Hill offers sweeping views of Catalina Island, Downtown Los Angeles, Disneyland's magical firework show and our beautiful California coastline.

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Banquet Cook, you will be collaborating closely with the chefs and event staff to meet deadlines, accommodate dietary restrictions, and ensure smooth food service. The position requires strong organization skills, attention to detail, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Following recipes and preparing dishes as per banquet menu
  • Preparing large quantities of food while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Cooking and assembling dishes according to event schedules
  • Ensuring dishes are presented attractively and consistently for service
  • Coordinating cooking times to ensure all dishes are ready simultaneously
  • Working closely with chefs, servers, and event coordinators to ensure smooth service
  • Preparing dishes for dietary restrictions, allergies, or specific client request
  • Adapting last-minute changes in the menu or guest count
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstations following food safety guidlines
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment like ovens, fryers, and grills
  • Ensuring food meets quality and taste standards before serving
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations to minimize risk

Qualifications:

  • 2 years previous experience in a kitchen, preferably in high-volume cooking or banquet setting
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Positive attitude, team player, and able to work collaboratively with others
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Strength Demands:

  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchenware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for the duration of a 6+ hour shift with appropriate breaks.
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean workstations, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning, etc.
  • Constant exposure to hot and damp temperature fluctuations
