Oral Maxillofacial Radiology Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The job of an oral surgery clinical assistant requires someone who can multitask, is a quick thinker, can remain calm in high stress situations and who is driven by working in a healthcare setting. Because of the nature of our patient's visit we often only see our patients once or twice as most come to us to have their wisdom teeth extracted or an infected tooth removed. This may mean we only have one chance to make an impression so we take great pride in always providing the best care possible.

Although no two days are ever the same, some typical daily duties include:

• Review patient charts in preparation for upcoming exam and/or surgeries
• Prepare and stock patient treatment rooms.
• Prepare documents, materials and equipment for patient treatment.
• Assist the doctor during surgery with suctioning by managing patient airway, taking and recording patient vitals, passing instruments to the doctor.
• Set up, break down and clean surgical rooms and remove trays to sterilization
• When licensed take panoramic and CBCT radiographs.
• Provide clean and thorough pre and postoperative instructions to patients and their escorts.
• Communicate with patient providers outside of CMOMS to receive medical clearances, x-rays, treatment plans, etc.

Desired but not required State of Maine Radiology license*, CPR certification*

• if you do not hold a current State of Maine Radiology License or are CPR certified, you must receive certification within 6 months of employment. CMOMS will reimburse for the cost of the RAD license with a minimum of one uninterrupted year of employment at CMOMS after RAD is received.

CMOMS continues to invest in the latest technology. We are a digital Oral Surgery practice. We have a X-Guide machine, a Sprint-Ray 3D printer, CBCT scanner, and intraoral scanner. We encourage our staff to invest in themselves by becoming fully trained in using these pieces of equipment and other essential topics for their job, therefore we provide regular workshops, in-service meetings both in house and at off site locations.

The hours are Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 5:00pm and Friday 7:00am – 1:00pm. Benefits include accrued PTO, health & dental insurance, STD, life insurance, profit sharing and additional voluntary insurance plans.

Our convenient Scarborough location is located near the Maine Turnpike and route 295.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Surgical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by providing assistance to the surgeon and ensuring the operating room is prepared and maintained. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and infection control protocols.

Duties

• Assist surgeons during various surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available.
• Prepare the operating room by sterilizing instruments and setting up surgical equipment.
• Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Perform basic life support as needed during surgical procedures.
• Assist in suturing wounds under the supervision of the surgeon when required.
• Document all relevant information in patient records using our electronic health record system.

Skills

• Proficient in vital signs monitoring and interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of infection control practices within a hospital setting.
• Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and terminology.
• Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
