Job description

Job Title: Senior PeopleSoft HCM Administrator Location: Oakland, CA Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $170,000.00 - $192,000.00 Contractor Work Model: Remote – offsite Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. System One IT has a direct hire opening for a PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 Administrator to support a leading academic institution. This position may be worked remotely. Sponsorship is not available. Responsibilities

  • Support PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementations hosted at AWS Cloud Services, including managing high availability, load balancers, Oracle CPU patching, tax updates, and application upgrades (PUM cycles – PeopleSoft Update Manager).
  • Drive annual disaster recovery exercises for the PeopleSoft system by coordinating with involved teams and stakeholders to ensure success.
  • Develop and implement enterprise standards, policies, and best practices for managing and supporting PeopleSoft HCM components such as Candidate Gateway, Talent Acquisition, and Integration Broker.
  • Troubleshoot production performance issues affecting large end-user populations across multiple organizational units.
  • Establish connectivity between vendors and PeopleSoft applications and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Support UCPath applications, including HCM Payroll, recruiting modules, and absence management.
  • Manage service requests, incidents, problem management, log analysis, and performance optimization of hosted applications.
  • Lead quarterly and ad-hoc PeopleSoft and environment refresh efforts, coordinating with database, application, and release management teams.
  • Document processes and procedures for production control staff.
  • Provide on-call production support for critical applications as needed, including applying patches and supporting UCPath projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with PeopleSoft PUM and Tools upgrades, CPU patching, tax updates, environment refreshes, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience with PeopleSoft integrations with third-party vendors, security policies, PII data handling, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture, including PIA, Oracle databases, Tuxedo Application Servers, Process Schedulers, WebLogic, FTP servers, Elastic Search, Application Engine, Data Mover, SQR, Cobol, BI Publisher, and integration components.
  • Experience with AWS platform (EC2, RDS, ALB, EFS), F5, and WAF technologies is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
