Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Inside Sales Representative at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for growing sales and promoting the Garmin brand through building relationships with assigned accounts by outbound sales calls, order processing and customer service.
Essential Functions
  • Independently establish, develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships with key business partners and retailers
  • Partner with other sales leaders in the development and execution of strategies designed to increase market share and profit with existing accounts
  • Analyze, assess and develop suggestions to leadership to set or adjust margin pricing
  • Maintain and leverage a high level of product knowledge across all assigned product markets to create sales strategies attractive to potential dealers
  • Answer/handle customer phone calls and emails to ensure customer requests are processed both timely and accurately
  • Process/follow up with customer requests, inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Communicate internally with Order Analysts, Production, Finance, Sales, Shipping, Warehouse and any other associates needed to assist in the processing of the customer orders and inquiries
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management as requested
  • Attend meetings, tradeshows and training sessions as required
  • Maintain knowledge of current marketing programs and how they apply to the assigned retail partners administering them
  • Independently run the assigned territories as needed, with no oversight
  • Negotiate and execute sales agreements
  • Develop territory and manage accounts through outbound sales calls (including cold calls), internal tracking and coordination in a team environment with RSMs
  • Recommend additional products and merchandise to retailers to expand the Garmin brand presence
  • Educate/inform retailers of new products, training resources, and sales promotions to drive sales growth
  • Use both the Dealer Resource Center and Dealer Review tools to log activities and drive efficiencies both internally and with retail partners
  • Accurately enter orders into Oracle, verifying that customer purchase orders match Oracle orders and communicate any variances to customer
  • Inform customers of unit prices, shipping date, inventory availability, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed; recommend replacement products or additional items as necessary
  • Follow up on miss-shipped orders and damaged orders and complete shipping discrepancy form
  • Issue Return Material Authorizations and credit memo's when applicable

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Ability to operate independently with little to no oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals, targets and other performance metrics
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, work well with others, be self-motivated and energetic
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess a willingness and ability to travel when needed

Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Garmin experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must possess a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Garmin's product line
  • Fully knowledgeable in all aspects of order entry system with a thorough understanding of Oracle management
  • Order administration and sales experience in a business-to-business environment
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish, French, Portuguese
