Job description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer to manage, optimize, and modernize high-availability enterprise environments.

Position Overview

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days Onsite / 2 days Remote)
  • Location: Richmond, VA
  • Shift: EST (Includes after-hours, weekend maintenance, and on-call rotation)
  • Interview Process: 1–2 Technical Webcam/In-Person interviews + a 2-hour hands-on work sample test at HQ.

Key Technical Skills Required

Database & High Availability (10+ Years)

  • Oracle DB: 19c & 26ai (CDB/PDB architecture, PDB cloning)
  • Upgrades & Migrations: Upgrading 19c → 26ai, Solaris to Linux migrations
  • Disaster Recovery & Backup: RMAN, Data Guard, High Availability (HA) design

Cloud, Middleware & Management

  • OCI Infrastructure: DBaaS in OCI, OEM 24ai / Grid Control 13c, PSU patching via Fleet Management
  • Middleware & Apps: Oracle APEX (18+), ORDS, WebLogic Server 14 / Fusion Middleware

Automation & DevOps

  • Scripting: Linux Shell scripting, Python, JavaScript
  • DevOps Tools: Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain OCI infrastructure, databases, and WebLogic middleware.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Implement automated deployment and maintenance scripts using Ansible and GitLab.
  • Monitor performance and handle database tuning, security, and DR/HA strategies.
  • Provide 24/7 production support and resolve critical system issues.
