Oracle Fusion Finance Functional Consultant with Manufacturing Experiences 

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid role)

Role Overview

The Oracle Fusion Finance Functional Consultant will join the Client team to lead the functional design, configuration, implementation, and support of the Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials modules. The consultant will work closely with finance, accounting, controllership, IT and business stakeholders to streamline financial processes, ensure system alignment with business requirements, and support the full lifecycle from requirements gathering through to go-live and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business requirements workshops with finance, accounting and business operations teams at Client to define “as-is” and “to-be” financial processes (GL, AR, AP, FA, Cash Management, etc).
  • Perform fit/gap analysis between current state and Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials capabilities; make recommendations for process improvements and configuration.
  • Design and document functional design specifications, mapping business requirements to Oracle modules.
  • Configure Oracle Fusion Financials modules including (but not limited to) General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management, Sub-ledger Accounting.
  • Develop and execute test plans: unit testing, integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Work with data migration teams for loading legacy data, converting data, and validating results.
  • Develop end-user training materials, conduct training sessions, and support change management for finance users.
  • Lead and coordinate cut-over activities (month-end/quarter/close) and support the go-live transition.
  • Provide post-go-live functional support, troubleshoot business issues, and assist with continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical teams (integration, reporting, BI, security) to ensure end-to-end solution meets functional expectations.
  • Stay current with Oracle Fusion releases, new features, and industry best practices in finance/processes, and help Client adopt those where relevant.
  • Work in a consulting-oriented role (either internal or third-party) with strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • 5 – 10 years of functional experience in implementing Oracle EBS/Cloud Financials (including implementation, configuration, support of financial modules).
  • Hands-on functional experience with Oracle GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Sub-ledger Accounting; preferably with the Oracle Fusion Cloud release. 
  • Demonstrated full lifecycle implementation experience (requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, go-live, post-go-live support). 
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes (month end/quarter end close, accounting, consolidations, finance reporting, ledger design).
  • Excellent communication skills, including with finance stakeholders and with cross-functional IT teams.
  • Proven ability to lead workshops, design functional solutions, document business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to work in a US client environment, adapt to time zones/travel requirements if needed.
  • US work authorization (as required by Client ) could be a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical devices or life sciences industry (or highly regulated manufacturing).
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with integrations between Finance and other modules (e.g., SCM, Projects, Revenu Management).
  • Experience with data migration tools (for example, Oracle HDL, FBDI) and experience working with legacy systems conversion.
  • Experience with leading change management and training for finance users.
  • Familiarity with global finance processes / multi-currency / multi-ledgers / multi-GAAP environments.
