Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Industrial Engineer / Principal Industrial Engineer - Master Production Scheduling (MPS) to support our Master Production Scheduling team within our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Iuka, MS. Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.
The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for applicants that enjoy working with and learning from their peers and are not afraid to jump in and make a difference!
Please note: A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business needs.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing, developing and coordinating the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet all objectives
  • Ensuring manufacturing schedules are horizontally and vertically integrated
  • Implementing scheduling best practices as prescribed by industry to include, but not limited to: Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), Schedule Performance, Health Metrics and Analysis
  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.
  • Build scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraint.
  • Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
  • Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers.
  • Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
  • Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to track performance.
  • Provides weekly and monthly status and reporting
  • Tracking plans and schedules
  • Creating, maintaining and validating Schedule data
  • Performing risk analysis and management
  • Identifying and resolving critical path and network logic conflicts
  • Utilizing Gantt,
  • milestone charts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances

Basic Qualifications:
Industrial Engineer Level 2:
  • Bachelor's degree with 1 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 0 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables.
  • Experience with data mining/data analysis.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) prior to staring as required by the business prior to commencement of employment.

Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience, OR a PhD and 0 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables.
  • Experience with data mining/data analysis.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) prior to staring as required by the business prior to commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Defense Industry Experience.
  • Active Secret DOD clearance and Special Program Access
  • Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) Degree
  • EVMS Experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated experience of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience.
  • Experience with improving manufacturing workflow utilizing Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies.
  • Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with agile methods of project management or development.
  • Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $68,200.00 - $102,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $84,700.00 - $127,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
