Perform database administration and support for other databases as needed. Perform database installation, patchy updates and release upgrades. Assist with migrations. Ensure optimal performance and high availability for databases in high volume 24x7operations to meet or exceed service metrics. Develop database monitoring and reporting tools. Develop and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies. Create procedures and implement periodic testing of the strategies. Setup and maintain effective backup, restore and verification procedures for databases. Develop and implement operational support plans and procedures for database processes as required and assure compliance to audit controls. Utilize PL/SQL, Oracle, Informix, DB2,MS/SQL Server, Unix, Solaris, Windows, Linux and RMAN. Travel/relocation to various unanticipated client sites within the United States only is required. Exact client site location and frequency of travel cannot be predicted as it may vary/change depending on project availability.
