Overview
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card only- (No Sponsorship).
The A.C. Coy Company is currently hiring for a Banner/Oracle DBA for a remote role. You will be responsible for all aspects of Oracle database management including; software installation, support, patch maintenance, configuration, backup and recovery, performanice tuning, troubleshooting, security, and data management.
Responsibilities
  • Ability to correlate fixes available in patches with identified functional and technical issues
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience migrating database objects. Advanced Shell Scripting
  • Displays advanced understanding of application server hardware and software architecture
  • Ability to execute complex database administration tasks to support the ERP and related technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support the ERP application with strong analytical sense
  • Install, maintain, and integrate database and application components
  • Conducts advanced Oracle Database Administration tasks, including database creation and maintenance, tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, program migrations, and security implementation/enforcement/audit
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team
  • Architects high availability systems and implements, documents, and tests Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Installs, maintains, and integrates Middle Tier technologies including Tomcat.Pprovides technology and procedural guidance to more-junior members of the DBA team, contributes to account management policies and procedures, and assists the Associate Director in developing longer-term technology plans and strategies
  • Provides leadership for planning efforts and to the development of standards, project plans, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborates with the Systems & Operations Team on security for Administrative Application managed assets; This task includes enabling and review of audit trails, enhanced security set-up and maintenance, and file protections and ownership
  • Advanced understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager and other system monitoring and performance tools leveraged by the DBA Team to assure system availability and optimal performance
  • Enters service requests with Oracle, Ellucian, and other vendors and independently evaluates and responds to vendor technical support feedback to diagnose and resolve complex application issues
  • Implement relevant technologies to solve business and technical issues
  • Plans and establishes best practices for implementing third party applications
  • Provides assistance and information needed to integrate third party applications with the ERP platform
  • Troubleshoots and resolves integration issues
  • Provides leadership in business continuity planning for relevant systems and the ERP platform
  • Designs and implements resilient systems, policies and procedures for business continuity and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
  • Advanced level of applied knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, practices, and processes

Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (degree highly preferred)
  • 5-9 years' experience as a Banner DBA or Oracle DBA
  • Oracle Database Administration and Oracle-based ERP Administration
    • Monitoring backup jobs and implementation of backup strategies
    • Development and implementation of upgrade methodologies
    • Project management duties - research, scope definition, resource and time estimation, risk analysis
    • Installation, configuration, upgrades, patches of Oracle databases and Banner applications
