Job description

Join our dynamic eyecare team at Eye Lite Optometry in Los Altos as an Optician Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and optical services. In this vital role, you will assist licensed optometrists in delivering exceptional eye care, managing optical equipment, and supporting patient needs. Duties

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations
  • Assist with fitting and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort
  • Support laboratory tasks including frame adjustments, and quality control to ensure optimal product delivery
  • Manage retail sales of eyewear products, providing excellent customer service and product recommendations
  • Operate optical equipment such as lensometers, autorefractors, visual fields, and retinal camera
  • Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like OfficeMate or similar platforms
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Assist with inventory management of optical supplies and medical equipment
  • Support billing processes by understanding medical coding related to optometric services and medical billing procedures

Experience

  • Prior experience in optometry or an ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred
