What you'll be doing
As a Direct Support Professional, you will support adults with disabilities in building independence and participating fully in their communities.
In this role, you will:
  • Support individuals with daily activities, personal goals, and life skills
  • Encourage independence, dignity, and community inclusion
  • Build positive relationships with individuals, families, caregivers, and community partners
  • Plan meaningful and engaging activities based on each person's goals and interests
  • Help individuals connect with their communities through work, volunteer, and social opportunities
  • Follow health and safety practices to provide high-quality support
  • Complete documentation using basic mobile and computer systems

This is a community-based role and includes regular driving between locations.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a positive impact.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must pass a background check

Experience
Previous experience in caregiving, social work, life skills coaching, education, or volunteering is a plus, but not required.
Skills
  • Empathy, patience, and respect for adults with disabilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs
  • Basic tech skills, including mobile phone use, email, Microsoft programs, and electronic documentation systems
