We are on a mission to help improve access to high-quality, affordable child care and we are looking for an SEO Manager / Technical SEO specialist / Growth marketer to help us accelerate our organic user acquisition! This is an amazing opportunity to make a real impact on our company, but also on our customers: families, and children's early education. You will be responsible for optimizing website architecture and implementing technical strategies to improve our site performance and search engine rankings.
We operate in a highly autonomous environment, and you'll be the first SEO hire, so this channel is yours to own and grow (there's room for career growth, by hiring other SEO team members: link building outreach specialists, content writers and more!) You'll be responsible for everything SEO-related: Site Audit & Analysis, Keyword Analysis, Content, Link Building, Website Architecture (XML sitemap, robots.txt files, canonical tags), Technical Troubleshooting and On-page Optimization (Page load speeds, Schema markup, Tags, Featured Snippets, etc.)
What you'll be doing
You must be comfortable getting your hands dirty and doing everything (at least initially, until we hire other SEO team members that you can delegate work to):
โ€ข Site audit: conduct thorough technical SEO audits of our website to provide recommendations for optimization.
โ€ข Analytics: monitor and analyze website traffic, keyword rankings, and other metrics to identify opportunities.
โ€ข Reporting: provide regular, clear, and detailed reporting on important metrics and performance.
โ€ข Keyword research: identify valuable search terms to grow our user acquisition and traffic.
โ€ข Technical SEO & On-page Optimization: optimizing website structure, improving speed and mobile friendliness.
โ€ข Content Strategy: develop content strategy to rank for valuable search terms, and collaborate with content team.
โ€ข Technical Troubleshooting: find and fix all errors (duplicate content, crawling & indexing errors, etc.
โ€ข SEO Tools Management: be responsible for Google Search Console, Google Analytics GA4, SEMrush.
โ€ข Link Building: develop and implement strategy to acquire backlinks to increase website authority.
โ€ข Work closely with our engineering & web development team to implement technical SEO changes.
โ€ข Create and maintain technical SEO documentation and guidelines for internal team.
โ€ข Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in technical SEO and search engine algorithms.
Qualifications
โ€ข 5+ years of direct experience working in SEO (we'll consider less, if you can show you're amazing!)
โ€ข Strong knowledge of HTML, CCS, JavaScript.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics GA4, SEMrush.
โ€ข Deep understanding of search engine algorithms to determine what governs crawlers' behavior and page ranking.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of site architecture, schema markup, URL structure, redirect management.
โ€ข Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging SEO issues, as well as optimizing site speed and performance.
โ€ข Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, content creators, and marketers.
โ€ข Data-driven, analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail.
โ€ข Owner mentality: you are self-motivated, use data to evaluate success and deliver results working independently.
