Job Description
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop manufacturing process of wafers utilizing existing equipment and technologies, or suggesting new cost-efficient approach.
  • Design tools and fixtures to improve or streamline manufacturing process.
  • Define best technical solutions to mitigate the human factor influences of the process.
  • Troubleshoot and root cause failure analysis:
  • For prototype units through the development of the production process of equipment on the production floor.
  • Create and maintain project documentation and communicating information at project status meetings.
  • Create MSP's and WI to describe the developed process, and train technicians
  • Have a good understanding optical manufacturing processes, included metrology and inspection steps needed to make sure that the developed process is correct.
  • Set the example of good work practices, be hands on in the development of the process, and bringing projects up tospeed

Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of fabrication and polishing of the optical components.
  • Knowledge of crystal fabrication a +. wafer polishing a+, x-ray crystallography a++
  • SolidWorks design and simulations skills
  • Hands on experience in optical shop
    • CNC programming.
      • Utilizing microscopes, interferometers, and laser measurement setup.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in project management, ability to work with minimum supervision
    • OneNote, Microsoft Office, Oracle, or similar software
  • Six Sigma, C-Lean, and 5S knowledge a must.
  • Presentation skills and ability to work with all levels of management and diverse departments.

Education
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Master's in manufacturing engineering or equivalent combination of engineering degree and years of experience, preferably in optics, crystals, or wafers.
  • 2 years' work experience in optics, fabrication, or relevant area of photonics in an industrial production environment.
