Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a NYS licensed Optician to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be a team player with a customer-focused & positive attitude. This position has flexible hours and could be part time if needed. We would also consider enrolling the right candidate in the NYS Optician Apprentice program.

This role will focus on providing an exceptional eye care experience by assisting patients in selecting eyewear and lenses. Through the adjustment, fitting, and dispensing of eyewear you'll be a crucial member of our Team.

This position requires attention to detail along with medical / retail experience. The blend of clinical knowledge along with optical enhance patient satisfaction and promote eye health.

Duties

  • Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear, from economical to fashion and designer frames.
  • Measure, adjust and dispense frames accurately. Keep accurate notes and order details to ensure smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of current eyewear trends, lens options, and frame styles to effectively advise patients.
  • Utilize clinic systems for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and processing orders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and colleagues to provide a positive patient experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members alike.
  • Experience with medical scheduling software or EHR, like Eyefinity and Acuity Logic for example.
