This role requires a professional with a passion for rehabilitating patients and improving their quality of life. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based physical therapy interventions in an outpatient setting. With a focus on functional improvement and patient satisfaction, you will play a vital role in helping individuals regain mobility and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Our team is composed of experienced physical therapists who are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. We promote not only therapeutic excellence but also a culture of teamwork and shared values, ensuring that all patients receive compassionate and individualized care. Our dedication to patient-centered practices allows us to create lasting relationships within the Alexandria community.

You will be working onsite in our outpatient office, directly interacting with patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and support staff. We maintain a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest therapeutic modalities and technologies, providing you with the tools necessary to offer the best care possible. Our office hours are structured to allow flexible scheduling, ensuring that you can provide optimal care while maintaining a balanced work-life relationship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine and evaluate patients referred for physical therapy, utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and best practices.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to assist patients in recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to enhance effectiveness and meeting productivity standards.
  • Provide guidance and education to patients, their families, and caregivers on injury prevention, exercises, and home care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and outcomes in compliance with professional standards and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members through regular communication regarding patient care and treatment updates.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, community outreach programs, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population comprising individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and pain management challenges. You will interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds, providing culturally competent care tailored to their unique circumstances. Your expertise and empathetic approach will play a critical role in fostering trust and comfort, helping patients to navigate their recovery journeys successfully.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills are necessary to manage patient documentation.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience as a licensed physical therapist in an outpatient setting is required, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and sports therapy. Experience working with diverse patient populations and familiarity with the latest rehabilitation technologies will be a plus. We value growth-minded individuals who continually seek to improve their clinical skills and knowledge.
