Job description

Job Title

Perform safe and efficient equipment operations for loading, moving, shipping and ticketing ash products at the Power Plant in Sutherland. $1200 hiring bonus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Abiding by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Operating rubber tire front end loader, motor grader and semi-truck to haul ash inside the plant area to the OPPD landfill or storage building.

Loading ash into market trucks &/or rail cars.

Ensuring appropriate tickets are written for orders according to requirements.

Working with appropriate personnel to identify and plan daily operations.

Keeping ash product within the designated landfill areas according to standards established within the department.

Maintaining the shop & equipment according to safety standards.

Cleaning shop, office, restroom, scale rooms and equipment on a regular basis.

Checking brakes, tires, springs, engine oil, etc. on a daily basis. Greasing, changing oil, changing tires, and performing other maintenance as required.

Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Previous experience in a construction &/or construction products related field is desired.
  • Must have previous experience operating construction machinery or equipment—front end loader, motor grader and a semi-tractor.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands & fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds to shoulder height.

Must be able to climb on and off, in and out of the loader, motor grader and truck as often as required to fill orders for delivery and/or landfill of coal combustion products.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Requires a Background Check and a pre-employment physical with drug screen and a criminal background check.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, may be extreme hot or cold.

Must be able to climb to a height of 100 feet. Must also deal with precarious places and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Day hours are generally 6 am to 6 pm, averaging 40 to 50 hours a week.

Hours may vary based on daily loading requirements.

Occasional Saturday and Sunday work may be required to load market trucks.

This is a tobacco free campus.
