Ophthalmology Clinic Manager Opportunity
GiaCare Inc. is accepting applications from experienced Ophthalmology Clinic Managers for a future opportunity supporting the Warfighter Refractive Surgery and Ophthalmology Clinic at Keesler Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.
This position is being recruited in anticipation of contract award. Qualified candidates will be considered for employment upon contract award.
About the Opportunity
Join an elite ophthalmology team supporting active-duty service members, military retirees, and their families. This leadership position oversees the daily operations of the Warfighter Refractive Surgery and Ophthalmology Clinic while also providing clinical ophthalmic support. The Clinic Manager serves as the liaison between clinic leadership and staff, ensuring efficient operations, quality patient care, and compliance with military healthcare standards.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday
- Flexible schedule between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- 9-hour workday including a 1-hour unpaid lunch
- No on-call
- Not to exceed 80 hours per two-week pay period
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Ophthalmology and Warfighter Refractive Surgery Clinic.
- Supervise ophthalmology technicians and administrative staff.
- Coordinate clinic scheduling, staffing, workflow, and productivity.
- Maintain clinic reports, productivity metrics, quality assurance documentation, and budget tracking.
- Prepare and maintain clinic schedules through the Electronic Health Record.
- Assist Optometrists and Ophthalmologists during examinations and refractive surgery procedures.
- Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing including visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, corneal topography, keratometry, pachymetry, and ocular photography.
- Maintain ophthalmic equipment, perform daily calibration checks, and ensure appropriate inventory of medications and supplies.
- Coordinate staff orientation, training, and competency requirements.
- Respond to patient inquiries while maintaining exceptional customer service and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of two years of college
- Completion of an ophthalmic technician course is highly desirable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or higher through JCAHPO, or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
- Minimum five (5) years of Ophthalmology Clinic experience within the past seven (7) years
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or managerial experience within an Ophthalmology Clinic during the past two (2) years, or equivalent clinic/hospital supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing ophthalmology or refractive surgery clinics
- Strong leadership, scheduling, and clinic operations experience
- Experience with electronic health records and clinic productivity reporting
