Growing, multi-location ophthalmology practice, with over 40 employees, serving the northern and northwestern suburbs of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Practice Administrator to oversee the operational, financial, and administrative functions of the practice.
We are seeking an experienced Administrator that has a strong medical practice - operational and financial background. This role requires a leader who can coordinate operations across multiple offices, implement systems and efficiencies, and professionally manage and develop staff while working closely with physicians.
This position serves as the senior operational leader of the practice, responsible for aligning clinical operations, staff performance, and business management to support physician productivity, patient access, and high-quality patient care. Experience in ophthalmology or another surgical specialty, combined with strong business and operational management experience, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Have a solid understanding of medical practice operations, coordinating these operations across multiple practice locations to ensure consistent standards, communication, and efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong financial skills, with an understanding of procurement and developing/analyzing financial statements.
- Exhibit effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Show the ability to identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements, efficiencies, and practice growth. Translating these opportunities into value.
- Provide strategic leadership in hiring, supervising, coaching, and developing administrative, clinical, and billing staff while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and a culture of high performance across the practice.
- Develop effective relationships with physicians so to understand their operational needs while balancing the business and financial priorities of the practice.
- Establish and maintain clear processes, metrics, expectations, and accountability across departments.
- Monitor staffing structure and operational costs to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Support compliance activities, audits, and operational reporting.
- Ensure practice management systems and technology are used effectively to support operations.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational short and long term plans.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of management experience in a medical practice or healthcare organization, preferably in ophthalmology or another procedural specialty practice.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and practice management systems; strong technology skills to support operational and reporting needs.
Compensation for this position will be based on the candidate's experience, expertise, and qualifications. An annual performance bonus is available for individuals who make significant contributions to practice growth, operational excellence, and overall success.
