Job description

Job Summary Join our team as a Water Plant Operator in Training. You will receive hands-on training to operate and maintain water treatment equipment, ensuring clean and safe water for our community. Ideal candidates are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a dynamic, essential field.

Performs daily upkeep of water treatment plant and meets janitorial demands of the facility. Operates and maintains facilities groundskeeper equipment. Maintains neat and clean appearance of buildings and grounds.

On call responsibilities. Duties Custodial duties in administration and maintenance buildings. Maintains cleaning and sanitary products inventory.

Maintains plant grounds (64 acres). Maintains and performs minor repairs on lawn equipment. Performs electrical and mechanical maintenance on selected equipment.

Retrieves maintenance, grounds, and custodial supplies from various vendors. Assist tenured Operators with process control, receiving chemicals, and other associated BAWA operational procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver's license within 90 days). Preferred: Prior custodial experience.

Prior grounds keeper experience. Familiar with preventative maintenance of grounds equipment. Class C Surface Water Treatment Certification from TCEQ.

Functioning understanding of Pumps and Motors. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to operate buffer, tractor, mower, edger, trimmer, and trucks. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.
