Position Summary

The Sports Operations & General Operations Intern will support the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of athletic events, facility operations, and guest-facing programming. This role is designed for a motivated individual interested in sports

management, event operations, hospitality, facility management, and large-scale event execution.


The intern will work closely with the sports operations and general operations teams to assist with event preparation, equipment coordination, staff support, guest services, vendor communication, administrative tasks, and on-site event execution. This position

provides hands-on experience in the daily operations of a multi-use sports and entertainment venue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and execution of sporting events, tournaments, meets, showcases, camps, clinics, and special events.
  • Support event setup and breakdown, including signage, tables, chairs, barriers, equipment, registration areas, hospitality spaces, and competition areas.
  • Assist with maintaining event schedules, staff assignments, equipment lists, supply inventories, and operational checklists.
  • Help coordinate communication between event organizers, internal departments, officials, vendors, coaches, athletes, and guests. 
  • Support facility readiness by walking event spaces, identifying operational needs, and helping ensure areas are clean, safe, organized, and event-ready.
  • Assist with registration, check-in, credentialing, guest direction, information tables, and customer service needs.
  • Help monitor events and report issues related to safety, guest experience, logistics, maintenance, equipment, or staffing.
  • Assist with inventory control, equipment organization, storage areas, and post-event reporting.
  • Support general operations projects related to scheduling, staffing, facility use, event planning, and process improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support sports operations, general operations, and venue leadership.

Qualifications

  • Current college student, recent graduate or individual pursuing experience in sports management, recreation, hospitality, event management, business, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in sports, events, facility operations, guest service, and live event execution.
  • Dependable, professional, organized, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work with staff, athletes, coaches, guests, and event partners.
  • Ability to take direction, solve problems, and remain calm during busy event periods. Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or move event equipment as needed.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.

Pay Range

  • The Hiring Rage is between $15.00-$18.00 based on Experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in athletics, event operations, hospitality, recreation, customer service or facility management.
  • Experience with event setup, tournament operations, registration systems, spreadsheets, radios, or scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of sports such as track and field, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, gymnastics, cheer, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, or other competitive events.

  • Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor event environments.
