Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 1 to join the team at UT Health North Campus Tyler, a 174-bed acute care and behavioral health hospital located on the UT Tyler Health Science Center campus in Tyler, Texas.

This 2nd-shift leadership role is responsible for managing daily environmental services operations and leading a team of 27 frontline employees. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure high standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance, and foster a safe, positive patient and staff experience.

What You'll Do
  • be responsible for driving client and patient satisfaction scores;
  • provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and works closely with the Infectious Control department;
  • work with the Environment of Care Committee and Infection Prevention Director;
  • effectively manages the Unit Operating System; and/or
  • support a diverse and inclusive workforce.

What You Bring
  • experience leading and managing a housekeeping team and is a leader who develops and motivates a team to exceed the expectations of clients and customers in service and the technical execution of a healthcare housekeeping system;
  • experience driving customer service and/or guest satisfaction results in a healthcare environment is preferred; 
  • possess strong leadership skills and can work independently to drive program compliance and reach project target dates of completion;
  • in-depth knowledge of housekeeping systems and procedures;
  • experience with vendor and contract management.
  • 3-5 years previous custodial / housekeeping or similar management experience., in a hospital, healthcare experience preferred but not required;
  • strong financial acumen and budget management experience; 
  • proficiency with computers and other technology; and
  • able to work a 2nd shift [3:00pm to 11:30pm] schedule.  As a manager, occasional weekends are possible, however this position is generally Monday - Friday.
