Job description


The Operations Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple retail dispensaries across California. The Operations Support Manager is pivotal in ensuring all locations maintain high operations standards, adhere to company policies and procedures, and customer are delivered exceptional experiences. The Operations Support Manager will oversee staff management, training, back-of-house operations, merchandising, audits, and the implementation of policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversees and supports the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of assigned retail staff.

· Develops and implements training programs to ensure employees are knowledgeable about products, customer service, and compliance regulations.

· Conducts regular store audits for performance deficiencies, initiates disciplinary action for policy and procedural issues of staff, and conducts performance evaluations.

· Ensures efficient back-of-house operations, including inventory management, stock replenishment, and store maintenance.

· Develops and enforces procedures for inventory control to minimize loss and ensure accuracy.

· Coordinates with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

· Ensures all dispensaries comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including cannabis industry-specific laws and regulations.

· Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

· Oversees the planning and execution of in-store merchandising strategies to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.

· Ensures all locations maintain a consistent and appealing visual presentation that aligns with brand standards.

· Monitors and analyzes sales data to make informed decisions about product placement and promotional strategies.

· Conducts regular audits of store operations, including cash handling, inventory, and security procedures.

· Identifies areas for improvement and implements corrective actions as needed.

· Maintains accurate records of audits and follow-up actions.

· Executes Ad Hoc Projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

CORE COMPETENCIES

· At least 2 years of inventory management and/or store manager experience, with knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products.

· Knowledge Cannabis POS Systems such as Dutchie.

· Advanced knowledge of METRC system.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft excel.

· Must be comfortable learning new skills.

· Must have a hands-on, proactive management style.

· Strong understanding of local and state cannabis laws, as well as BCC regulations.

· Must be highly adaptable and comfortable with an environment that can change rapidly.

· Effective communication and presentation skills.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage numerous priorities effectively.

· Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and work effectively across various sectors of the department as needed or requested by supervisor. Including the capacity to support other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and responsiveness to organizational needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

· Constantly: Walking, sitting at a desk, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, computer input, coordination of hand and eye.

· Frequently: Face contact with customers and staff

· Occasionally: Reaching above shoulder height, lifting 20-30 lbs., ability to do push/pull motions, with accommodations upon request.

· Occasionally: Must be able to workdays, nights, holidays and weekends.

· Frequently: Travel among different California locations. Incumbents must have a valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● 3-5 years of experience in retail operations management, preferably within the cannabis industry.

● Strong understanding of California cannabis laws and regulations.

● Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

● Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

● Must be at least 21 years of age
