FUN.com, home of HalloweenCostumes.com, Halloween.com, and so much more, is looking for an entry level Accountant.

In the vast machinery of this organization, a new guardian rises. Your role is not merely a position-it is a critical function in the engine that drives our financial universe forward. You will stand at the crossroads of precision and power, supporting month-end reporting, forging journal entries, and reconciling the flow of sales and refunds across our payment networks. 


You will command both accounts payable and receivable, align inventory invoices within Acumatica, and bring order to Halloween-dated inventory records.  You will also lend your strength to the department's evolving goals. When the year-end audit arrives, you will rise to meet it, providing the clarity and structure needed for victory. And through it all, you will help build and reinforce the processes and policies that fortify our internal controls.

  • Support for the month end financial reporting.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly payment provider sales and refund activity to ensure accuracy between Admin and the payment providers.
  • Perform accounts payable and account receivable functions.
  • Enter inventory vendor invoices into Acumatica and reconcile the invoices to inventory receipts within Admin.
  • Monitor and reconcile Halloween Dated inventory vendor statements to Acumatica.
  • Prepare monthly Royalty accrual along with quarterly reporting to Licensors.
  • Support payroll process during Season if necessary.
  • Provide input into department's goal setting process.
  • Support year end external audit.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • When season calls, team members may be called upon to assist in the warehouse occasionally, along with other non-warehouse roles, shipping out order to deliver monster memories!
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years experience working in entry position accounting or related field
  • CPA Preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiar with accounting processes and GAAP
  • Basic understanding of accounting and reporting standards, gaining experience in researching as it relates to accounting issues
  • Experience with Excel and proficiency using Microsoft Office products which include Outlook, Word and Adobe
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Accuracy and attention to detail 

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a hybrid work environment. When working from home, Team Member is responsible for maintaining their workspace in a safe manner, free from safety hazards, and reasonably distraction-free.    
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and at times extended periods to support business operations. Must be able to work extended periods during the month of October.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
