The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Research Analyst 3 What You Will Be Doing: Collect, analyze, and interpret healthcare quality, patient care, and operational data to support decision-making, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. Develop and maintain data collection systems, databases, and reporting processes that provide reliable and actionable information for hospital leadership, committees, and external stakeholders.

Conduct research studies, statistical analyses, and benchmarking activities to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support continuous quality improvement efforts. Consult with managers, departments, and quality improvement teams to define information needs, interpret findings, and develop data-driven solutions to operational and clinical challenges. Prepare and present reports, monitor reporting requirements and vendor compliance, and support regulatory submissions to agencies such as CMS and The Joint Commission.

At time of interview applicant must submit: List of three (3) professional references, including daytime phone numbers, two (2) of which are from a current or former supervisor.

Copies of your two (2) most recent performance evaluations, or two (2) letters of professional reference, if available. Must successfully pass a criminal history background check and maintain eligibility to work in a secure psychiatric hospital environment. Must be able to work with confidential patient, quality, and operational data in accordance with HIPAA and applicable State of Alaska requirements.

Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and have experience working with databases, data analysis, and reporting systems. May be required to attend meetings, trainings, or conferences within Anchorage. Please read the information below carefully.
