Job description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Operations Manager to support two key engineering organizations within Arm's Solutions Engineering Group: a team developing Technology IPs and a Central Engineering team focused on compute platforms, methodologies, tools, and automation.

In this role, you will work closely with Engineering Managers, Capacity Managers, Finance, Recruiting, and leadership teams to ensure the organization has the right people, skills, and resources in place to meet business objectives. You will be responsible for workforce planning, staffing coordination, resource forecasting, operational reporting, and execution of key organizational processes.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, processes, and data to help engineering teams operate effectively and scale successfully.

Prior semiconductor industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering leadership to understand workforce demand and staffing requirements across multiple teams.
  • Own resource planning activities, including headcount forecasting, hiring plans, contractor needs, and capacity tracking.
  • Work with Capacity Managers, Finance, Recruiting, and leadership teams to align staffing plans with business priorities and budgets.
  • Track hiring progress, workforce allocation, and organizational capacity, providing regular updates and recommendations.
  • Organize and run key operational cadences, including staff meetings, planning reviews, and quarterly operational reviews.
  • Maintain workforce dashboards, staffing reports, and organizational metrics.
  • Track decisions, action items, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely follow-through.
  • Improve operational processes, reporting, and planning mechanisms to increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Support annual planning activities and strategic workforce initiatives.
  • Coordinate across globally distributed teams to ensure alignment and execution.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in operations management, workforce planning, resource management, or engineering operations within the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with headcount planning, hiring processes, and resource forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor development environments and engineering organizations.
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting IP development, SoC, compute, tooling, or methodology teams.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor design flows, EDA environments, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience managing external workforce and contractor planning.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet.
  • AI tooling and automation experience.
  • Prior ASIC design or SoC integration experience.

Salary Range:$140,800-$190,400 per year
