Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The campus Bronco Health and Wellness program operates under the Division of Student Affairs and focuses on the health and well-being of the campus community. The Bronco Health and Wellness program offers tailored, whole-person-centered care and services towards illness prevention and health promotion, educational opportunities, and public health leadership and expertise. The program develops a health and wellness culture that empowers students, faculty, and staff to create and maintain healthier behaviors through education, programming, and support. One primary purpose is to help students make informed decisions that enhance individual success and live healthy, balanced lifestyles that incorporate the positive attitudes and productive behaviors related to our nine dimensions of wellness.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Student Success & Wellness Navigator (Health Program Manager)is responsible for maintaining the effective operation and administration of education, programming, and services relating to general health education and wellness, and specific university student health issues. The purpose of this position is to work alongside the Director to monitor national trends and help to ensure that relevant outreach, educational programming, and resources are provided to meet the needs of the students and campus community. This position will play a vital role in connecting students to academic support resources while integrating health and wellness programming to promote overall student success. Reporting to the Director of Campus Health and Wellness, the role will focus on monitoring student outcomes, strengthening the link between wellness and academic achievement, and ensuring that programs are responsive to evolving student needs. This position will serve as a critical campus asset that creates capabilities to address and overcome health disparities and inequities, leveraging the nine dimensions of wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
The Health Program Manager of Bronco Health and Wellness has the duties and responsibilities of supervising students, and administrative support associated with the Be Well Title III initiative, oversee all budgeting activities, conduct health education training workshops, planning, implementing, and evaluating health education programming in support of the stated mission of the University, the Division of Student Affairs, Student Health Services, Counseling and Personal Development, Campus Recreation, and other campus partners. This position has the responsibility of serving as the staff lead for student programs known as Wellness Ambassadors and Certified Peer Educators. Serve as an instructor for courses related to Bronco Wellness. Additionally, this role includes serving as a campus Mental Health First Aid Instructor. As the Health and Wellness Center is developed, the Health Program Manager may assume supervisory responsibilities for future staff, helping to expand the team.
This position is funded by non-state funds and has been designated time-limited. Continuation of this position is contingent upon the continuing availability of those non-state funds.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Health Education/Public Health and two-three years of health-related experience.
  • Experience with research and/or grant writing, serving as a supervisor with staff/students, creating budgets, or budget management, and team building and facilitating workshops.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
Knowledge of Student Wellness & Health Promotion: Knowledge of wellness frameworks and prevention strategies that support student well-being and academic success.
Program Coordination & Evaluation Skills:Skill in coordinating wellness programs and tracking participation and outcomes.
Student Needs Assessment & Resources Navigation:Ability to assess student needs and connect them to appropriate campus and community resources.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:Skill in working with campus partners to support student retention and holistic wellness.
Confidentiality & Compliance:
Ability to manage student information in accordance with FERPA and applicable standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and/or Certified in Public Health
  • Certified in Nutrition
