Job description

Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking experienced Current Operations Planning Personnel. In this role, personnel will support Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs) that are actively executing missions by assisting with the resolution of issues that are preventing or impacting mission execution. This is also considered a planning-focused position, requiring close coordination with operational teams to ensure missions remain on track and objectives are successfully achieved.

The positions will be at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (JBSA-Lackland) in San Antonio, Texas. 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the initial planning meetings between the assigned Cyber Protection Team (CPT) and the mission partner (MP).

  • Evaluate the CPT's formal mission plan for completeness against established operational checklists and provide readiness recommendations to the designated government authority for final "go/no-go" adjudication.

  • Build, update, and maintain a detailed Common Tactical Picture (CTP) for all tasked missions.

  • Aggregate operational data to provide government leadership with unified situational awareness of team activities, progress against objectives, and operational environment changes.

  • Act as a continuous coordination hub for deployed CPTs from execution start to final report submission.

  • Monitor operations and assist government leads in identifying and drafting real-time deconfliction plans.

  • Support the Force Readiness cell by actively tracking and updating the real-time status and physical/logical location of all deployed personnel and equipment to maintain an accurate, up-to-date force posture dashboard.

  • Monitor operational dashboards and feeds for potential Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs) triggers.

  • Draft required operational reports for immediate government review, approval, and transmission.

  • Attend operational battle rhythm events, track missions, highlight potential conflicts, and assist to deconflict.

  • Conduct preliminary technical and operational analysis of mission reports to extract immediate findings and assist in formal debriefs to capture lessons learned.

Qualifications

Clearance Required:       TS/SCI

Degree and Years of Experience:

Two (2) or more years' experience related to Cyber Protection Team (CPT) operations

Required Skills:

Proven ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Proven ability to manage their schedule, meet deadlines, schedule meetings, etc. Proven ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses. Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.

Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:

Hands-on experience scheduling and planning CPT missions Previous experience in the 16th Air Force related to CPT mission scheduling Completion of Planner courses such as the Joint Cyber Operations Planners Course (JCOPC)
