Job description

The Operations Manager oversees the business for the assigned division. This includes, but is not limited to, the customer service, safety, operational efficiencies and overall personnel management within the division. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the revenue and cost elements for the division, requiring involvement with the sales and marketing initiatives, as well as the day to day operations. The Operations Manager is relied upon for the effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing and decision making to attain profitable results for the division.


Key Accountabilities:
Ensure fair treatment of all personnel
Establish and maintain high appearance standards throughout all operations
Practice progressive discipline with all employee performance issues
Ensure proper completion of paperwork for drivers including truck driver logs and vehicle inspections
Conduct an annual review on each employee's job performance evaluation and approve any changes to an employee's compensation
Adhere to all wage and hour guidelines
Establish priorities to meet customer service commitments
Establish and review productivity standards at each phase of the operation
Protect and preserve all assets
Ensure all drivers are DOT compliant
Be familiar with and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations
Assist in the completion of scheduled route inspections
Participate in revenue retention & growth objectives, productivity standards
Review cost of operations, personnel needs
Ensure Branch profit margins are met

Promote an effective safety program
Investigate accidents and prepare necessary paperwork
Prepare the daily schedule
Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management


Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies:

3+ years of Managerial experience
Pass DOT physical, drug screen and motor vehicle registration license check
Proven leadership and communication skills
Work in outdoor environment 20% of the time
Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions occasionally
Some travel required
