Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operation Manager is responsible for assisting in the overall management and operation of the hotel including the rooms and food and beverage departments. Works closely with the Assistant General Manager in executing and monitoring policies and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the Hotel to ensure profitability, customer satisfaction and associate engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for daily shift coverage as the operations necessitates.
  • Responsible for effective labor management of assigned departments through appropriate scheduling and monitoring of payroll.
  • Responsible for assisting with the ongoing training and development of hotel associates and maintaining all necessary training records.
  • Assists and responds to guests in a friendly and positive fashion, while providing the highest level of service.
  • Always maintain a professional and personable appearance, according to hotel standards.
  • ย Deliver the company core competencies including work product, teamwork and culture, guest and customer service, work ethic, and impact-oriented problem solver.
  • The primary duty will be managing the operations of the hotel. They will regularly direct the work of two or more associates.
  • The Operations Manager will be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes days, nights, overnights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • All other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including complaint handling and resolution.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple concurrent demands while prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Proficient with hotel point of sales and operating systems.
  • Results oriented and highly motivated self-starter.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on own and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
