Job description

Summary/Objective: This position leads the operations team by executing processes to maintain operational efficiency and excellence. The Operations Manager provides a clear vision and consistent expectations to staff and identifies opportunities to support strategic objectives as it relates to operations. Ensures a departmental environment that promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and operational excellence. Continually strives to improve processes, procedures, and customer service both internally and externally.

Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Responsible for the supervision and support of the deposit operations team which provides daily support of the deposit functions of the Bank: ACH, wire activity, fraud prevention, online banking, cash management, and debit card support.
  • Provides backup support to the deposit operations team on daily job duties as needed due to absences, vacation, or unexpected workload situations, and troubleshoots issues and answers questions as they arise.
  • Builds internal and external relationships through exceptional problem solving, ownership, and follow-through. Handles escalated client issues and disputes. Provides a high level of personalized support services to key clients and strategic relationships within the Bank.
  • Provides and promotes first class customer service through coaching and training opportunities to staff and assists staff to identify priorities, continued workflow, and allocation of development resources.
  • Assists, delegates, and provides guidance with all aspects of ACH. Enforces updated rules and regulations regarding ACH.
  • Assists the Director of Operations with various reporting, research, and compliance monitoring.
  • Manages procedural updates and adherence to applicable state and federal regulatory compliance related issues.
  • Meets with the Director of Operations weekly to report on the status of outstanding projects, any issues, items for improvement, and staffing matters.
  • Attends training as required by Exchange Bank as well as support the overall compliance program by complying with all laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years or more experience within a financial institution and a thorough knowledge of deposit operations, along with a strong knowledge of governmental regulations surrounding the area.
  • A minimum of five years of supervision experience.
  • Proven ability to work with detailed information in an efficient and accurate manner, while meeting established deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in using Microsoft Office Tools, and the Bank’s current software system.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve issues making sound judgments.
  • Motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
  • General knowledge of basic banking principles.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from any college or university.
  • Ten years or more experience within a financial institution.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
