The Opportunity:ย 

Red River Co-op invites applications for the position of Gas Bar Manager to lead the team at our Gas Bar located at 1008 Keewatin Street, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We are seeking a hands-on individual who is committed to service and has the required leadership skills to lead their front-line staff.ย 

Reporting to the Gas Bar Operations Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Ensure a healthy and safe work environment for our staff and members.ย 

  • Be a brand ambassador for the Co-op.

  • Apply industry leading standards in category management and merchandising.

  • Lead the team to provide world class customer service.

  • Communicate with our Environmental Supervisor to ensure compliance with all legal and environmental requirements.

  • Achieve financial results and budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits.

  • Ensure standards of the Gas Bar are met, including customer service, cleanliness, inventory control, rotation, and ordering.

  • Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, programs, and overall expectations.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Prior experience in managing a high-paced retail business, preferable in a gas bar and/or car wash environment.
  • Above average communication / interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
  • A full commitment to building effective teams;
  • An aptitude for marketing, leadership, bookkeeping, maintaining image standards, human resources, and strong merchandising techniques;
  • A firm, yet friendly and sociable personality;
  • A natural affinity of welcoming our members to the site, while embracing an inclusive environment for our employees;
  • A strong understanding of computer applications, especially Microsoft Office;
  • An ability to work well with others.
