Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


The Porter position is concerned with ensuring the correct setup and dismantling of banquet and meeting rooms to meet individual guest needs, ensuring Banquet and Meeting rooms are set up properly according to specifications detailed on floor plans provided by the Operations Manager.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00-$19.00 CAD

This position will remain open until October 9, 2026.


  • Ensure all Banquet and Meeting spaces are set up to specifications as per the Operations Manager/Sales Team.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team to set up and dismantle tables, chairs, risers, staging, and removable flooring for meetings.
  • Responsible for ensuring that meeting rooms are checked and cleaned before, during, and after an event, when necessary.
  • Providing service to events, including providing and replenishing water and receiving and storing materials on behalf of the client.
  • Available in the event that a client has a concern with the set-up at any point during their function and can be reached to ensure their needs are met.
  • Cleaning of guest and staff washrooms, ensuring that toilets and urinals are clean and soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are replenished in each washroom.
  • Make sure floors are swept and mopped prior to, during, and after an event.
  • Removal of garbage during and after the completion of an event.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the F&B and sales teams, from servers to management.

  • Previous experience as a Porter in a convention center or similar preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours based on business levels.
  • Effective organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and repeat other repetitive and possibly strenuous work.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is not necessary but would be considered an asset.
