Job Title: Wellfield Manager

Department: Wellfield

Reports to: General Manager

Location: Florence AZ

Job Summary:

The Wellfield Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the ISCR (In-Situ Copper Recovery) wellfield to meet production targets. This role involves managing manpower, capital construction, maintenance, and operational expenditures, while ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a safe work culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Direct ISCR wellfield operations to achieve production targets.
  • Develop and implement wellfield production strategies for both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Report on key performance indicators, field activities, and production performance.
  • Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and have the necessary resources.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and lead safety awareness and training efforts.
  • Ensure operations comply with regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership to wellfield staff, including engineers, hydrogeologists, geologists, maintenance, and operational personnel.
  • Manage technical teams and support their development.
  • Foster a positive working environment.

Financial Management:

  • Manage wellfield expenditures to optimize production unit costs and capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate activities between teams, departments, and contractors to achieve development and production goals.
  • Oversee contracted technical and construction services.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

 

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ISR wellfield or hydrometallurgical operations.
  • Over 10 years of supervisory and project management experience.
  • Knowledge of ISCR wellfield operations, maintenance of wellfield systems, and copper porphyry leaching chemistry.
  • Understanding of mine planning, water well design, and theory.
  • Strong team leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strategic thinking and achievement orientation.
  • Proficiency in project management and data analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Experience in change management theory and practice.

Work Environment:

 

  • This position will include office work, but some work will be performed in all-weather conditions outdoors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper’s site safety program.
