The Operations Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager, maintenance team and fuel suppliers to support safe, reliable and efficient renewable power generation. The Operations Manager Role:

  • Oversee daily plant operations and provide leadership to control room operators and steam plant operators.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for shift operators, providing technical support and operational direction.
  • Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot operational issues and make real-time process adjustments to support efficiency, output and reliability.
  • Manage wood fuel receiving, handling and inventory to maintain consistent fuel supply and quality.
  • Work alongside operators during startup, shutdown and maintenance activities when required.

  • Coordinate operational staffing across the five-shift rotation to maintain coverage.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to support preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, annual outages and plant improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate operational, inspection and work-order records within the CMMS.
  • Support environmental compliance, safety meetings, incident reviews and regulatory reporting.

Operations Manager Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in biomass, power generation or industrial plant operations.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on plant experience.
  • Experience with biomass or solid-fuel boilers and steam turbine operations.
