Position Summary

King Pine Ski Area is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and hands-on Lift Operations Supervisor to lead our winter lift operations team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of King Pine’s lifts while ensuring safe, efficient, and welcoming service for our guests.

The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable in changing winter conditions, and is willing to work alongside the team to support daily operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and support seasonal lift operators.
  • Assign daily responsibilities based on staffing and operational needs.
  • Coach employees on safety, performance, attendance, and guest service expectations.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and safety-focused team environment.
  • Lead by example and actively participate in lift operations as needed.

Lift Operations

  • Oversee daily lift operations in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
  • Conduct pre-opening checks and ensure lifts and loading/unloading areas are ready for operation.
  • Ensure proper opening, operating, and closing procedures are followed.
  • Monitor lift operations throughout the day and respond promptly to operational or safety concerns.
  • Complete required checklists, operational documentation, and incident reports.
  • Communicate equipment concerns promptly to Lift Maintenance and management.

Safety & Mountain Operations

  • Maintain a strong focus on guest and employee safety throughout daily operations.
  • Participate in lift evacuation training and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe lift stations, mazes, ramps, and surrounding areas.
  • Assist with snow removal, ramp maintenance, signage, fencing, and other lift-area preparation.
  • Work closely with Lift Maintenance, Ski Patrol, Mountain Operations, Snowsports, and other departments.
  • Assist with other Mountain Operations responsibilities as assigned.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure lift operators provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service.
  • Address guest concerns appropriately and communicate issues to management when needed.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all King Pine guests.

Qualifications

  • Previous ski area, lift operations, outdoor recreation, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and support a seasonal team.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to guest and employee safety.
  • Dependable, punctual, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for daily operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in cold, snow, wind, and changing winter conditions.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of lift operations, including standing for extended periods, shoveling, raking, lifting, and working on snow-covered or uneven surfaces.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and school vacation periods throughout the winter season.

Schedule

This is a full-time, seasonal winter position. The schedule will include weekends, holidays, early mornings, and peak vacation periods. Hours may vary based on weather, operating conditions, and business needs.
