Job Title: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Alachua, FL
Reports To: Director
Compensation ranges: $48,000–$60,000 annually
POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Manager is the primary operational leader of Unique Caring Opportunities and serves as the Director's most trusted partner in ensuring the organization runs efficiently, compliantly, and without disruption. This is not a remote oversight role — it requires deep, hands-on involvement across all homes, service lines, and operational areas. The Operations Manager is expected to maintain full working knowledge of the organization, step in when gaps arise, and ensure that services continue seamlessly regardless of staffing changes or unexpected challenges. This role is central to the long-term operational sustainability and growth of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of all residential homes and service lines including companion, transportation, and LSD1 services
- Conduct regular visits across all homes and programs to maintain direct visibility, operational accountability, and service quality — this role requires consistent on-the-ground presence
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and shift coverage across all locations to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service delivery
- Step into operational gaps when leadership, field staff, or support staff are unavailable to ensure services continue without disruption under any circumstances
- Maintain cross-functional operational oversight and working knowledge of all departments, service lines, and compliance requirements
- Oversee incident management — ensure all incidents are properly documented, reported, followed up on, and resolved in accordance with regulatory and company standards
- Manage vendor relationships, coordinate facility maintenance, and ensure all homes are operationally ready and compliant with safety and licensing requirements
- Lead staffing contingency planning to ensure operational continuity during emergencies, unexpected absences, or staffing shortages
- Hold staff accountable to performance standards, company policies, and care expectations across all locations
- Coordinate with the Residential Support role to ensure documentation, compliance, and audit readiness standards are consistently met
- Support the Field Operations Coordinator with visit findings, follow-through, and corrective action
- Support the planning and implementation of future programs, services, and organizational growth initiatives
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact between the Director and all operational staff
- Provide the Director with regular operational updates, performance summaries, and escalation reports
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience managing residential care, group home, or similar healthcare operations required
- Demonstrated leadership, staff management, and organizational accountability experience
- Experience managing multi-site operations and cross-functional teams
- Strong crisis management, problem-solving, and operational decision-making skills
- Knowledge of APD regulations and Florida residential care compliance requirements preferred
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation — regular home visits are required
- High school diploma or GED required — associate or bachelor's degree in human services, healthcare management, or a related field preferred
- Must pass a Level 2 background check
This is the most critical leadership hire at Unique Caring Opportunities. The right candidate will be deeply invested in operational excellence, capable of stepping in anywhere the organization needs them, and committed to supporting the Director's vision for long-term growth and sustainability.
