Job Summary

TheOperationsSupervisor is responsible for leading a team of employees in a fast-paced HVAC manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while driving continuous improvement. The supervisor plans and assigns work, monitors adherence to policies and procedures, coaches and develops team members, and ensures achievement of key performance indicators related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a production team of up to 15 employees to meet daily safety, quality, and output targets.

  • Oversee 1st shift manufacturing operations to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and adherence to production schedules.

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

  • Monitor production processes and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap, downtime, and rework.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, including documentation, audits, and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve production issues and optimize processes.

  • Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools to track production metrics, analyze data trends, and generate reports.

  • Lead daily team meetings and support employee engagement through clear communication of goals and expectations.

  • Coach and mentor employees to improve performance, develop skills, and build bench strength.

  • Maintain training matrices and ensure workforce capability aligns with current and future production needs.

  • Support workplace organization initiatives, including 5S and standardized work practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in manufacturing or production supervision, including direct team leadership.

  • Strong understanding of quality control systems and ISO 9001 requirements.

  • Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP systems.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC or related manufacturing industries.

  • Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence.

  • Experience supporting or leading safety programs.

  • Familiarity with UL/Intertek certification requirements.

  • Experience in mixed-model or high-volume manufacturing environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and material movement.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift materials as required to support production oversight.

  • Monday-Fridayschedule; overtime may be required based on production demands.
