Job Description
Non-Exempt (Hourly) Operations Manager -
Position: Non-Exempt Operations Manager

We are seeking a dependable, safety-driven, and detail-oriented Non-Exempt Operations Manager to support daily delivery operations and uphold all performance, safety, and compliance standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage fast-paced operational demands while supporting Delivery Associates (DAs) and maintaining a culture of safety and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and compliance across the team.
  • Analyze data, make recommendations, and drive process improvements with DAs.
  • Serve as the safety champion and reinforce company values daily.
  • Coordinate load-out, rescues, and end-of-day tasks; maintain flexibility to support all operational needs.
  • Work 10+ hour shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays; complete at least one delivery route every 14 days.
  • Review route commitments and allocate vehicles efficiently.
  • Ensure vehicle roadworthiness, ground unsafe vehicles, and secure replacements promptly.
  • Coordinate repairs using internal vendors and third-party resources to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with emergency field repairs such as minor fixes, pull-outs, tire changes, and tows.
  • Manage accident reporting, documentation, and communication with insurance partners.
  • Maintain communication with DAs throughout their shift and escalate emergencies appropriately.
  • Monitor performance metrics, conduct meetings with DAs, and address performance gaps or violations.
  • Ensure adherence to DVIC pre- and post-trip inspections and update all required systems and logs.
  • Debrief with DAs at the end of each shift to close out operations.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment.
  • Preferred previous experience with an Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) or previous experience in commercial or professional safety, fleet management, or compliance program management within transportation.
  • Experience coaching, training, and leading drivers using telematics and related tools.
  • Demonstrated integrity with 100% adherence to work standards.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive operational demands and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, partners, and team members while resolving or escalating challenges.
  • Ability to safely operate and navigate delivery vans (GVWR 10,000 lbs or less); experience with cargo vans, box trucks, or semis is a plus.
  • Ability to load and unload packages up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation during a 10-hour shift.
  • Willingness to consent to drug screening.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and low-visibility environments such as evenings or rain.
  • Ability to conduct performance reviews and give/receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to speak and read English fluently.
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance meeting company standards.
  • Ability to use company-issued phones, designated apps, and email systems to manage delivery progress and resolve issues.
  • Ability to safely maneuver vehicles to avoid incidents involving people, vehicles, or property.
