Job description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a high-performance production team within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for personnel development, operational performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant processing operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, coach, discipline, promote, and, when needed, terminate personnel.
  • Partner with departmental managers, supervisors, and HR on employee-related decisions.
  • Foster a culture of clear communication, accountability, teamwork, and adherence to company policies.

Production & Operational Excellence

  • Assist in defining and executing short- and long-term objectives for safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Direct daily processing operations, ensuring alignment with established procedures and production requirements.
  • Oversee workflow management to achieve accurate, timely completion of work orders.

Process Control & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Manufacturing Procedures (SMPs).
  • Establish and optimize processing profiles to enhance product quality and equipment efficiency.
  • Review production documentation, quality plans, material instructions, chemistry results, and related technical data.
  • Collect, analyze, and verify in-process and final product data for compliance with specifications.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement activities targeting process capability, equipment reliability, and overall operational stability.
  • Champion 6S programs to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production environment.

Cost, Productivity & Performance Management

  • Develop and manage budgets to meet cost-control targets and support operational objectives.
  • Initiate or support cost-reduction, waste-elimination, and profit-improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure achievement of productivity, yield, throughput, and delivery-performance goals.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on performance metrics, project progress, maintenance activities, and training.

Engineering, Maintenance & Reliability Support

  • Lead engineering projects involving capacity expansion, new technologies, and equipment/process improvements.
  • Maintain an effective preventive maintenance program and support troubleshooting for unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts, consumables, and external maintenance or service resources.

Safety, Compliance & Professional Conduct

  • Promote and maintain a safe, complaint, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Enforce all safety standards and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Model integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all operations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through courses, seminars, and industry resources.
