Job description

The Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center is seeking a motivated, energetic candidate to fill the role of Operations Manager at our historic nonprofit organization.


The Operations Manager is a multifaceted role. The specific duties of the operations manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources, securing compliance, and staff supervision. You should be ready to mentor team members, find ways to increase the quality of customer service, and implement best practices across all levels. Honesty, transparency, dependability, and teamwork will be the foundation upon which this job and the expectations of performance will be built.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the executive director in the areas of accounting and bookkeeping
  • Scheduling and managing venue space rentals and clients
  • Scheduling and working with event staff on performance, visual, and cultural arts events and designated rental and special events
  • Overseeing general logistical work and maintenance for efficient facility operation
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
  • Monitor, plan, inventory, and purchase materials with executive director approval with cost-effective efficiency
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives with defined outcomes
  • Examine financial data and use it to improve profitability and efficiency
  • Assist executive director budgets and forecast management and submit regular financial and budget reports to the executive director
  • Perform quality controls for inventory, ticketing, and financial transactions supported with regular reports to the executive director
  • Train and supervise event staff
  • Collaborate with technical staff on needs for venue events
  • Find ways to increase the quality of customer service

Skills

  • High School Graduate, GED, or Equivalent - BA/College Graduate strongly preferred
  • A degree in Business, Accounting, Operations Management, Arts Administration, or related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, logistics management, facilities management or related field
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite apps for business
  • 5+ years of sales/customer service experience
  • Proven work experience as an operations manager or similar role
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations and facilities management experience
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Must have Managerial experience a must
