  • Translate operational requirements and field learnings into reusable design requirements, modules, review criteria, and controlled design-package updates.
  • Evaluate design changes for technical feasibility, system compatibility, cost, schedule, safety, maintainability, and operational impact.
  • Partner across Product, Concept Design, Construction, Implementation, Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Technology, Procurement, and automation suppliers to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Apply data analysis, engineering economics, and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate design review, requirements traceability, change-impact analysis, and technical decision-making.

  • Develop engineering talent and create repeatable practices that improve design quality, consistency, and program scalability.

What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in automation-system design, integration, technical review, or troubleshooting within complex industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain environments.
  • Knowledge of automation equipment and its interfaces with controls, building infrastructure, safety systems, associate workflows, and maintenance requirements.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering reviews and identifying technical risks before installation, commissioning, or launch.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, automation controls, machine safety, ergonomics, maintainability, testing, and system-integration principles.
  • Strong analytical and financial-evaluation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear engineering recommendations.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, and external suppliers.
  • An AI-forward engineering mindset, with interest or experience using emerging tools to improve analysis, technical quality, and preservation of engineering knowledge.
