Position SummaryThe Asset Management Systems Supervisor at San Jose Water Companyis responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimizationof the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and associated technologiesthat support the Company's asset and work management processes. Reporting tothe Director of Asset Management, this position leads a team of analysts andadministrators to ensure the EAM system effectively supports repair,maintenance, replacement, and work planning activities across the organization.The Supervisor manages system maintenance, security controls, and data qualityinitiatives while driving cross-departmental collaboration to enhance workexecution and asset performance. This role coordinates multiple technologyprojects, ensures alignment with business needs, and promotes the effective useof business intelligence (BI) tools for data-driven decision-making. The AssetManagement Systems Supervisor plays a key role in fostering a culture ofsafety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement throughtechnology-enabled asset management practices.
Specific Responsibilities- Foster a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, Occupational Safety and Hazards Administration (OSHA) regulations, and other applicable requirements.
- Supervise support of end-users of the asset management systems in areas such as: reviewing and auditing user access, creating training materials, training end-users, delivering reports in support of business operations, maintaining online system documentation, ensuring safety is at the forefront of all decisions and incorporated in any configurations.
- Constantly engage with supervisors, users, developers, and other system leads to improve field applications and computing related to work and asset management.
- Support implementation and new updates of EAM software.
- Oversee data analysis processes for data quality, work performance, asset performance, and improve safety
- Build and maintain an organizational culture that sustains excellent asset management system utilization and data quality.
- Support CMMS data integrations with multiple of business systems.
- Manage and support mobile application development.
- Prepare performance reports using BI analytics visualizations and dashboards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Extensive knowledge of asset management principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to work with operating teams.
- Ability to map business process flows and translate to technical configurations.
- Applied experience using SQL to interact with an enterprise database and experience with reporting or data presentation tools.
- Experience developing integrations between CMMS system and other internal or external business systems.
- Creativity in operations, analyzing and presenting data relationships, and helping others derive information from data.
- Understanding of data modeling and database structure.
- Experience with programming/scripting languages (ex. Python, JavaScript, .Net).
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal intervention, in order to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of ETL concepts and best practices
Required Education and Experience- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience implementing or administering a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or EAM system.
- Minimum of 1 year experience using HxGN EAM.
- Experience working with databases and database tools/applications (e.g. Toad, Data Point, SQL Developer) writing SQL against relational database systems.
- Experience performing analysis and developing reports using BI & analytics tools.
