Where you'll work
This role will be based in our Salt Lake City office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
What you'll do
As a Fraud Operations Associate, you will be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to manage the operations aspects of fraud. Specifically, you will manage daily workflows related to transaction fraud, first-party fraud, and account takeovers and work towards improving the business's ability to scale and make risk-based and customer-focused decisions. In this role, you will be the company expert in fraud operations and have the autonomy to drive down losses and improve internal efficiencies. You will also be critical in containing fraud losses and improving operational efficiencies by contributing to the evolution of our AI tools, thus ensuring Brex scales safely and sustainably. As Brex scales, the pressure of fraud increases as well.
Responsibilities
Case Management:
  • Own and work associate level queues that are assigned to the Fraud Operations team
  • Develop and implement scalable operational processes for fraud management
  • Make risk-based, subjective decisions on high-value/risk transactions & account offboardings
  • Achieve company-level goals around financial fraud losses

Case Escalations & Incident Handling
  • Respond to cross-functional partners on escalations related to fraud in a diligent way that balances risk and provides customer love
  • Participating and helping in streamlining fraud operational workflows around transaction review and account investigations
  • Ability to take ownership of Fraud Incident handling and be able to conduct the root cause analysis & close inefficiency gaps

Project & Roadmap Ownership
  • Ability to own & ship projects that are on Fraud Ops roadmap with full autonomy
  • Able to use AI tools to elevate & enhance queues and projects
  • Partner with Policy, Data Science, and Engineering to improve tooling to scale internal operations for fraud.

  • Previous management or team leader experience.
  • Strong communication skills

Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $76,800-$96,000 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package
